Giacomo Puccini’s Turandot is a dazzling opera of mystery, danger and redemption set in a legendary imperial China. The icy Princess Turandot has sworn never to marry, challenging her suitors to answer three riddles on pain of death. When an unknown prince dares to accept the challenge, a battle of wit, pride and desire unfolds beneath the splendour of the imperial court. Featuring some of opera’s most powerful music, including the celebrated aria “Nessun dorma”, Turandot combines spectacle, romance and high drama in an unforgettable theatrical experience, moving from moments of cruelty and fear towards hope, transformation and the possibility of love.
